ARC 2024 Spring/Summer Session

Hello young roboticists!

This year, our program managers are excited to announce that we will be continuing our in-person club activities in addition to our regular online club meetings! Join us as we develop, build and test a variety of drones and robots at the Flight Systems and Control lab at UTIAS, located in Toronto, Ontario. Students will be able to gain hands on experience with mentorship from graduate students in the University of Toronto’s Institute for Aerospace Studies.

Our weekly online club meetings will be hosted via Zoom. Students can attend in order to learn more about robotic systems and aerospace engineering, with a specific focus on the applications and usage in academic research. Online sessions are open to students even if they are unable to attend the in-person sessions in Toronto. However, please note that attendance in the online sessions is mandatory if a student wishes to attend the in-person sessions at the Flight Systems and Control lab.

2024 Session Projects

The projects for the 2024 session will be focused on the following topics, representative of the FSC lab’s current research focuses:

  • Autonomous Drone Racing
  • Fixed-wing UAV Aerobatics and Aircraft Design
  • eVTOL Development and Applications

Important Dates:

Applications Open: March 2024
Application Deadline: April 5, 2024

Notice of Acceptance: by May 1, 2024
Online Sessions: May-July 2024
In-person Sessions: August 2024

In-person club activities will be offered for a two week period in August, with an exact time to be determined later based on student availability and FSC lab research activities.

ARC is, and will remain, a club that is provided with no operational fees or costs assessed to students. However, transportation and accommodation are not covered for those who wish to attend in-person.
